How an Exterior Clean Works,
Step by Step

From the first walk of the property to the last pass, here is what actually happens and why each step is there.

01

Estimate and Surface Assessment

We look at the property, identify every surface and its condition, and work out the method for each. That includes flagging anything that will not fully come out, before we quote, not after.

02

Protecting Plants, Electrical and Fixtures

Plants and beds get soaked with plain water first, so the first thing they take up is water rather than product, and they get covered on hot days. Outlets, meters and exterior fixtures are taped. This step is the difference between a clean house and a clean house with a dead hedge.

03

Chemical Application and Dwell Time

The cleaning solution goes on at low pressure and is left to work. Dwell time is what actually does the cleaning, and it varies with temperature — the same mix works faster on a warm afternoon than it does in January. Rushing this step is the most common reason a wash comes out patchy.

04

Rinse and Post-Treatment

Everything is rinsed at a pressure appropriate to the surface. On concrete and other flatwork, a light post-treatment goes down afterwards. It is the step you cannot see, and it is why a professionally cleaned driveway stays clean for months rather than weeks.

05

Final Walkthrough

We walk the property with you before we pack up. If something needs another pass, it gets another pass.
